India to Iceland tour

Subject: Visit Iceland from India

A complete guide for people traveling from India to Iceland. We have covered every detail for Indian tourists. Special thanks to my Indian friends and family who helped me to write it.

Watched ‘Dilwale’ recently and wonder where was it and how can I go there? Don’t worry, we are here to help you out. Iceland is one of the most popular countries to visit in the world. The "land of Fire and Ice" is a fantastic place and can be a little high on the pocket, and we are here to provide you with information to make your trip memorable from A to Z.    I would love to create an itinerary or review it if you prefer.

Please remember that I don’t have the power to turn on the northern lights in day, show you the elves but other than that I can help you with most of the things. I can help you to get the best tours at the best price option. We have a backup plan for your tours in case of weather causes delays or closers. In case you decide to come on your own, have a look at what to do to come here.

1.Select the dates

Iceland is a small country but has two completely different types of weather. The best time to visit Iceland for particular stuff is as described below:

  • Northern Lights: late September through to late March.

  • Sightseeing: late May through mid-June, or anytime in September.

  • Whale Watching: April to October.

  • Good Weather: June and August.

  • Blue Lagoon: May to September.

  • Save Money: Mid-May through to mid-June or September through to mid-October.

  • Avoid Crowds: April, May, September, and October.

2.Book VFS appointment
Please keep in mind that we are assisting you here with ''Tourist Visa '´
Indian people need a visa to travel to Iceland. VFS appointment is the second step before your trip. Visa application can take from a minimum of 5 days to 45 days. It costs 1400 INR for its service and 4000 INR visa fees. The following papers would be required and assist you in the interview:

  • Visa application form: Schengen application form duly filled and signed.

  • International insurance: Insurance cards can be purchased here online.INSURANCE LINK

  • Income Tax: Three years of income tax copy return should be attached.

  • Bank Statement: 6 months of bank statements should be included.

  • Hotel booking copy: Our advice would be to book a hotel well in advance with a refundable policy.

  • Two recent passport size photographs with white background

  • Original passport valid for at least six months along with its photocopy and two pages should be remaining for putting the visa.

  • Colored photocopy of your recent visa from other countries

  • Flight booking copy: Most of the flights have a minimum of one stopover. We would recommend using our FLIGHT LINK.

Optional: Letter from your company can assist you here. In short, you should be able to prove that you have enough financial support.

3)Money Exchange

Don't wait for money exchange when you land in Iceland. Better would be to get a foreign money travel card. Please remember that Icelandic currency is Icelandic Krona. It's next to impossible to get ISK in India.

4) Driving licenses

You need an international driver’s permit (IDP) to drive in Iceland. The license price costs from 1000 to 1500 INR.

5) Things to carry in Iceland
Please remember that Iceland is a cold and windy country. Don't get fooled into thinking that summers are hot. Your essential checklist can be the following items:

  • Pack thermals/long underwear

  • Replace 3-4 tops with 2 sweaters

  • Make one of your bottoms a necessary pair of black pants

  • Choose boots as your one shoe

  • Pack warm, lightweight socks

  • Accessorize with hats, gloves, and scarves

  • Choose your coat wisely

  • Don't forget chapstick and lotion

6) Landing at the airport

When you arrive in Iceland, please don't take a taxi as it can cost over a hundred dollars. If you would be staying in the city center during your visit, please select the bus service. The bus will take up to one hour to reach the hotel. People who are interested in car hire, they can do that at the airport quickly. Alcohol is expensive in Iceland and buying some can help you before your Icelandic tour starts.

7) Sightseeing package in Iceland
Most of the sightseeing places are away from Reykjavik and are free of cost. These are the main tourist attractions and can be visited by bus. We have mentioned Iceland’s most popular tourist destinations. The price suggested is for people travelling by bus depending on the company:

  • The Blue Lagoon: 6990 ISK TO 9900 ISK

  • The Golden Circle: 9000 ISK

  • The South Shore: 12000 ISK

  • Northern Lights: 6000 ISK

  • Reykjavik Sightseeing: FREE OF COST

8) Read the Icelandic Pledge

It's a small island, and we try our level best to make sure we can take care of it. Iceland is a small nation that relies on tourist income heavily. Please read our Icelandic pledge and follow it during your stay in Iceland. TAKE ICELANDIC PLEDGE

9) Flight back to India
Iceland has a small airport, and you need to go to the airport a little early if you need tax back from any purchase made by you during the visit. Icelandic souvenirs are expensive at the airport and they don't have a lot of choices also.
